Installation

Place shade in position you wish it to hang when installed. Mark point of location of open screw eyes (Part 3). Install open screw eyes (Part 3) and hook hardware (Part 1 and 7) into eyes. If shade is installed indoors, it is now ready for operation. Pull on raising cord (Part 6) to raise and lower shade. To release automatic lock, pull cord to right. To lock at desired height, pull cord to left and release cord.

For shades to be installed outdoors, two wind cords (Part 4) are furnished. These should be installed as follows:

  • Install closed screw eyes (Part 2) for wind cords (Part 4) directly above and below where cords are to be placed. (They can be located as desired, but positioning about one fourth of the distance in from each end works best.) Be sure they are located so as not to interfere with raising cords and not located" so as to rub on a weaving cord.

  • Pass cord twice through lower screw eye, to prevent wear from movement of shade, then up and through upper screw eyes, and back down behind shade. Pass end through both sides of cord tightener (Part 5) and knot end. Loop other end through cord at tightener (Part 5) and tie back on itself in loop.

NOTE: If, due to heavy infestation in your area, mildew spots should appear on your shades, immediately wash them with a mild solution of mildew remover obtainable at your local hardware store.
